I was born... in the suburbs of Antwerp in Belgium, a place called Deurne. It was December 1973...I remember it well....Although I do not come from a family of Artistic geniuses. Music and performing have always been part of my life. The only way to keep me quiet as a toddler, was switching on the television. And although I never met him, my grandfather, so I have been told many times through my adolescent years, was an incredibly talented Violinist. The only instrument I regret not pursuing. From the age of 9 I started studying the Trumpet Bugle...I grew out of that very quickly. By the age of 14, I picked up the Saxophone Alt, a very erotic instrument ... I guess I was still too young for eroticism.... Around the age of 16 I started to show an interest in Musicals and theatre, Well, I'm glad to say that it's still there, so much so, I live and breathe it. Between the age of 16 and 23, the age I came to London, I learned about the craft.Mainly thanks to my Mentor Gabriel Van Landeghem. I was trying to do and learn so much I didn't had time to learn and do it, So I had to give up my Violin lessons which, as I said, still regret up to this day (one day I'll pick it up again). Before coming to London I had already done a fair share of performing, but my main lessons were here in London.I have been in two physical theatre companies, working with people from Lamda, Rada, the Stanislavsky School, Lecoq School. Over the years I have worked with some of the most talented people in the business. People with Idea's, Ideal's and most of all determination and courage.... Apart from performing I also try my hand in designing posters for shows, a bit of writing, composing music ... Just trying to keep myself sane by being creatively active..... ok the picture you see on the right is just wishful thinking ... |
